Sam & Dave dig a hole – book review and giveaway – Update

Sam & Dave dig a hole is an amazing book which has really sparked the imagination of H, after reading it 5 times back to back we now have many convoluted stories about H going on a digging adventure looking for treasure and the various different outcomes.

Written by Mac Barnett and illustrated by Jon Klassen this is a very simple story with pictures that tell a completely different story, to not completely give the game away H was actually shouting at Sam and Dave to tell them what they were obviously missing when they were on their dig!

The ending has some subtle differences that some readers might notice but the main point from our prospective is the huge amount of imagination and discussion and play that this book alone created for H. I really do recommend this book as a wonderful chance to enter a world of imagination that children are so very good at.  Check out the YouTube videos for some more information:
